I've watched with amazement at some of the prices paid for PR70 coins. A coin in a piece of plastic that a grader felt was better than a PR69. I've looked at thousands and thousands of these coins and really couldn't tell one was better than another. In fact some 69's looked better that the 70's. I guess it all depends on the graders mood on the day of grading. I'm willing to bet that if you cracked out a PR70 coin and re-submitted it to the same service you won't get a PR70 coin back. If you are looking for nice coins, PR69 is just as nice as PR70's and a lot cheaper in many cases. |

Next year will be the 100 anniversary of the Lincoln cent. The U.S. mint will issue 4 special commemorative designs on the reverse of the Lincoln cent in 2009 to show four difference scenes from Abraham Lincoln's life. It’s a shame that the mint won’t issue a 2009-S VDB coin. That would of been cool and a good idea, but the mint seems to find that unworthy. |
